Back to Lightwave

The CYBORG was modeled in CLAY and Lightwave. I have been using Lightwave as my first-choice modeler for a while now but I like to test new software and CLAY is shaping up well.

The model was created from a basic sketch I did but with no background reference. The basic human structure was done in CLAY using the box modeling tequnique. This type of modeling is very new to me as I have been creating most of my work point-by-point and stitching patches together.

The basic work flow was: Body in Clay, re-worked in LW.
Body UV's and texture done in ZBrush.
Head gear added in LW. Pipes added in LW and UV's assigned in LW.
Cyborg arms modeled in LW.
Skirt made in Clay, UV's in LW, textured in ZBrush. Metal surfaces aded in LW and all final modeling touchups in LW.

2D work Photoshop, Painter 8 and ZBrush.

Lighting, Rendering in Layout in Lightwave.
