I am a big fan of 3D programs
with clean interfces and tons of screen space. I use a twin
monitor setup so during my first session with SILO
I kept the keyboard shortcuts open on the second monitor and
adjusted the tools to my preference.
I like to keep the most used
tools together on a keyboard as after a while I find I don't
look down at the keys at all.
I quickly mapped split poly to `N`,
Connect to `M`, Merge vets to
`,`, poly from verts to .`. This
gives me a well used, easy acces bottom row of keys eg. ZXCVBNM,./
and stops me having to hit space and TAB all the time.
I've enjoyed my first day
with SILO and although slow for an hour or two it soon became
second nature.
