WHAT IS THE SITE ALL ABOUT? (A synopsis)

"A well established website created to share the 2D and 3D Artwork of Glen Southern, a UK based Freelance artist. Southern Graphics started over ten years ago and has grown into a huge gallery with over 4000 images created with an eclectic range of mediums"

THE NEW LOOK SOUTHERN GFX WEBSITE

Southerngfx has been around for several years now and it has been a fantastic place for me to show my artwork to the online community and share tutorials and resources.

The biggest problem is that the site itself was created using basic html and tables and is now very dated. As the years have rolled by I have bolted on new pages and features and the site has become unmanageable.
So, what you are looking at is the solution. I decided to get some professional help and fully re-design the site from the ground up. The site is now faster, easier to navigate, easier to maintain and update.

I’ve decided to leave the bulk of the old site in situ so that I don't create dead links all over the internet. I have transferred images from the last two years over to the new site but most of the content is new.

WHERE ARE ALL THE TUTORIALS AND ART FROM THE OLD SITE?

Everything is still available on this same server via a link from to the old front page. My intention will be to eventually transfer everything over to the news site but for now I am only adding new or recent images and tutorials. A link to the old pages is available from the font page of this new look site (or here...)

CAN I USE YOUR ART AS A REFERENCE FOR A 3D MODEL?

Almost certainly yes! Please email with a request and what you intend to use the artwork for and permission is usually given. Where possible please provide a link to this site. Some of the art within this website has been created for a specific job or client and copyright may belong to a third party. Wherever possible I have indicated this.

WHAT TRAINING DOES SGFX OFFER?

Alongside the DVD's that we have produced with KURV we can still offer a limited amount of Sub-Division Modeling training. Primarily Lightwave, SILO, ZBrush and Mubdox. Please contact me for availability and pricing.

ARE YOU AVAILABLE FOR COMMISION WORK?

I have limited availability for commission work but I am always interested in new and exciting jobs. If my style fits the project you are undertaking please contact me with specifics.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I am writing this on the first day of 2008. I have had to put all my efforts into my non-art-related work and as such many things have had to take a back seat in 2007. Sub-D and the forums has been without me for some three or four months. I have not been taking and new commissions and I've not been able to keep up with software/hardware developments.

I would like to say that this will all change but I am heavily committed into the first quarter of 2008, perhaps even into the summer. I want to try and keep my sketching going and in particular I am in need to anatomy practice. I have been able to join in with some COW's and DSG topics whilst on holiday this week. My meagre results are posted in the various galleries.

I have been a reader of Imagine FX since issue 1 was launched last year. I took the plunge today and joined their forums. I posted a series of sketches that I did whilst in Egypt recently.
