LATEST ENTRY: 05.02.2008

I've had a fun filled January and managed to crank out more models than in one month than in the whole of 2007. I've spent time getting familiar with the latest features in ZBrush and finally spent some quality time with SILO. I just watched HOST for about the fifth time and I noticed that they had used SILO and ZBrush in the modeling process.

I've just uploaded all my new images to the 3D character and Creature sections of my galleries so please take a look and give me some feedback. I'm really happy with my Sulky teenage Ogre with a deer skull on his head.

I'm back into the training swing with three session lined up over the next few weeks.

I am writing this on the first day of 2008. I have had to put all my efforts into my non-art-related work and as such many things have had to take a back seat in 2007. Sub-D and the forums has been without me for some three or four months. I have not been taking and new commissions and I've not been able to keep up with software/hardware developments.

I would like to say that this will all change but I am heavily committed into the first quarter of 2008, perhaps even into the summer. I want to try and keep my sketching going and in particular I am in need to anatomy practice. I have been able to join in with some COW's and DSG topics whilst on holiday this week. My meager results are posted in the various galleries.

I have a wish list for 2008 with regard to my artwork. Firstly I need to commit some sometime it which is the biggest challenge I face. My family has never really kept me away from the Pencil or Pixel even with new addition to the family ie. Josh. Work on the other hand is a massive impact and even leads to me taking extended breaks as I just have. I do feel that a break can help me creatively as I always seem to come back to the art reinvigorated and bursting with ideas. I live in hope of finding a way to balance work and art that is more stable. Who knows, 2008 may be the year I achieve my goal.
